Olive oil label and buying information

Grade is a defined claim.

Extra virgin is a recognized olive oil grade with chemical and sensory criteria. Acidity alone is not enough to establish that grade. A front label cannot replace appropriate product documentation.

Separate origin from impression.

A landscape, flag or traditional-looking bottle does not tell you every detail about the oil. Look for the stated origin and supplier information, and ask about anything material that is unclear.

Compare dates and volume.

Note any harvest, packing and best-before information without treating those dates as interchangeable. Record the actual container volume and compare it with the quantity you expect to use.

Request evidence for specific claims.

Certification, laboratory results, a particular cultivar or a claimed chemical profile need product-specific support. OliveSold does not establish those properties from imagery or packaging style.
